Christmas Themed Magnetic Chess Games Recall Class Action Lawsuit

    Christmas Themed Magnetic Chess Games

On February 24, 2026, there was a recall for the Christmas-themed Magnetic Chess Games. According to the recall, number 26-287, the recalled magnetic chess games violate the mandatory standard for toys because they contain loose magnets that pose an ingestion risk to children. When any high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system, which can result in perforations, twisting, or blockage of the intestines as well as blood poisoning and death.

The recall affects approximately 5,300 units of the product.

The recalled Christmas-themed games consist of 20 magnets, a red string, game instructions, and a red drawstring storage bag. The words “Merry Christmas,” and holiday images, including snowmen, a Christmas tree, and a Santa Claus, are printed on the front of the game box. “Magnetic” is printed on the back of the box.

The defective game was sold online via Amazon.com from November 2024 through November 2025 for about $7 each. According to the recall, no incidents or injuries have been reported.

Still, affected consumers are being urged to immediately stop using the recalled magnetic chess games, take them away from children, and contact the company (Yiruikeji2024) for a full refund. Consumers will also be provided with instructions on disposing the product before obtaining their refund.

If your child was harmed, however, you may have the right to file a lawsuit. To ensure that you have a thorough understanding of the legal options available to you, please do not hesitate to reach out to the legal team here at our firm as soon as possible. Our recall lawyers here at the Normandie Law Firm have decades of experience and are fully committed to providing you with the guidance that you need to fight for your rights.

Possible Injuries from Defective Magnet Toys

As briefly mentioned above, a child ingesting magnetic toys can have catastrophic results. Ingested magnets can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system. The following may occur:

    • Perforations or holes in the intestines
    • Twisting of the intestines
    • Blockages in the intestines
    • Blood poisoning
    • Death

    The Steps to Take

If your child was harmed or killed after ingesting a magnetic piece from the recalled Christmas game, it is important to understand that parents/guardians could have grounds to file claims. To prepare to file a claim, consider the following recommendations:

    • Take photos of the scene of the incident
    • Seek medical care as soon as possible
    • Contact the company to report the incident and the harm suffered
    • Stop using the product and make sure that it remains inaccessible to children (do not dispose of it as it can be used as evidence)
    • Do not agree to a repair, a refund, a replacement, etc.
    • Gather all relevant medical records
    • Gather all available records of the purchase of the product (receipts, order confirmation, etc.)
    • Gather any video footage that captured the incident
    • Seek the guidance of a recall lawyer as soon as possible

If you have any questions about what to do if your child was harmed as a result of the recalled chess game, please do not hesitate to reach out to our law firm as soon as possible.

Christmas Themed Magnetic Chess Games Recall Class Action Lawsuit incident sue compensation lawsuit lawyer

Is there a Class Action Lawsuit?

Because the recall is so recent and no injuries/incidents have been reported, there is no class action yet, but that does not mean that a claim will not arise. Class action claims and mass torts claims are very common when it comes to product recalls, although claims can be delayed if affected consumers do not come forward to report the incident and resulting harm. Can I file a class action lawsuit? Yes, and your claim can be the first to start the class action. What if there is already a claim? How can I join or be a part of a class action lawsuit on this case? Normally, participating in these claims can be as simple as reaching out to a class action lawyer.
