ToolGuards Portable Water Immersion Heater Recall Class Action Lawsuit

ToolGuards Portable Water Immersion Heater Recall Class Action Lawsuit lawyer sue compensation attorney liability
On March 17. 2022, there was a recall of the ToolGuards Portable Water Immersion Heateres/ According to the recall, number 22-734, the water immersion heater can overheat, causing it to possibly melt or catch fire. This poses a number of risks – including fire/burn risks, shock risk, and electrocution risks.

The recall affects approximately 5,000 products of the portable immersion heaters with built-in thermostats. The affected products have a silver label on the base of the unit with TOOLGUARDS, Model TG_IMH_01, and Batch Number PO100301 printed on it.

The product was sold exclusively through Amazon.com from December 2021 to February 2022 for approximately $45 each. So far, FXswede AB has received at least 19 reports of the recalled products overheated, melting, or catching fire. There have been 2 reports of consumers being shocked.

Consumers are being urged to stop using the recalled product and contact FXswede AB for a refund. Specifically, that consumers unplug the defective water immersion heaters, cut the cord, and submit a photo (of the product with the cut cord) along with the Amazon order number via email.

Without a doubt, destroying the product in exchange for a full refund is the best option for consumers who have not been harmed because of the defective product. However, if you or a loved one suffered harm because of the product, the destroying it and getting a refund should not even be considered.

In fact, if you or a loved one were harmed because of a defective product, you should never agree to a refund. Instead, you should speak to a lawyer immediately to explore the legal options available to you. Here at Normandie Law Firm, our product liability lawyers are ready to help you better understand your legal options.

    Possible Injuries

As mentioned above, the defective portable immersion water heaters represent a fire risk and a shock risk. This means that victims can suffer some of the following injuries:

    • Burn injuries (ranging in severity)
    • Smoke inhalation injuries
    • Electric burns
    • Internal damage
    • Cardiac arrest

Both the fire risk and the shock risk represent real dangers – resulting injuries could even be fatal. Regardless of the harm that you or a loved one suffered because of the defective ToolGuards Portable Water Immersion Heaters, you should explore your legal options as you might have grounds to sue.

How can I join or be a part of a class action lawsuit on this case? Normally, participating in a class action lawsuit is as simple as opting in. With the help of a class action lawyer, you can become a part of the class action. Can I file a class action lawsuit? Yes, if there is no existing class action, you can start a class action lawsuit.
