Samit Outdoors SAMIT Youth Mult-Purpose Helmets Recall Class Action Lawsuit

Samit Outdoors SAMIT Youth Mult-Purpose Helmets Recall Class Action Lawsuit sue liable incident compensation

On February 19, 2026, Samit Outdoors issued a recall for their SAMIT Youth Multi-Purpose Helmets. According to the recall, number 26-277, the recalled helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. That is, the helmets fail to comply with positional stability and certification requirements. Because of this, the helmets can fail to protect users in a crash, posing a risk of injury or death due to head injury.

The recall affects approximately 3,295 units of the product.

The recalled helmets are designed for children. They were sold in one size and fit a head circumference of about 21 inches to 23 inches. The helmets are sold in multiple colors, including “crack” blue, “crack” red, and “crack” black; all color options have a cracked paint design. They were also available in pure black. The helmets have gray padding, black straps, and a black and red buckle with a black chin strap as well as a black plastic knob at the back of the helmet (for adjusting the fit).

The recalled helmets were sold on Amazon.com from March 2025 through November 2025 for prices ranging from $28 and $33.

According to the recall, no incidents or injuries have been reported.

Still, the company is urging all affected consumers to immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact the company for a full refund. Consumers are to destroy the helmets and follow specific instructions before being able to obtain a refund.

However, if your child was injured, it is important that you understand that you could have the right to file a lawsuit. To ensure that you understand the legal options available to you, you can reach out to the team here at the Normandie Law Firm as soon as possible.

    Understanding the Possible Injuries

Helmets are supposed to protect users from head injuries when falls occur. As explained above, the recalled SAMIT Youth helmets do not meet the mandatory safety standards for bicycle helmets, so they can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash. Because of this, children may potentially be at risk of suffering different head injuries, including the following:

    • Concussions
    • Traumatic brain injuries
    • Hemorrhages
    • Skull fractures
    • Lacerations

These injuries can potentially be fatal. Whether your child suffered a head injury or died as a result of the defective helmets recalled by Samit Outdoors, it is important that you seek legal help as soon as possible.

What to do if Your Child was Injured

If your child was harmed, you may have questions about what steps to take to prepare to pursue a claim. Consider the following recommendations:

    • Take photos of the scene of the incident
    • Take photos of any visible injuries
    • Take photos of the defective product
    • Seek medical attention immediately and follow all treatment recommendations
    • Contact the company to report the incident and the harm that occurred
    • Never agree to any remedy offered by the company, including a refund, a return, or a replacement. Never sign any document provided by the company.
    • Speak to any witnesses and collect their contact information
    • Gather any records proving the purchase of the defective product (like a receipt, email confirmation, etc.)
    • Gather all relevant medical records
    • Gather any video footage that captured the incident
    • Seek legal help from a recall lawyer as soon as possible

Is there a Class Action Lawsuit?

Since no incidents or injuries have been reported, there is not a class action claim yet. However, these types of claims (along mass torts claims) are very common when it comes to defective products, so they can arise at later times. How can I join or be a part of a class action lawsuit on this case? Typically, joining a class action can be as simple as reaching out to a class action lawyer. What if there is not a case? Can I file a class action lawsuit? Yes, your claim could actually be the first to start the claim.
