King Song Electric Unicycles Recall Class Action Lawsuit

King Song Electric Unicycles Recall Class Action Lawsuit layer fire hazard risk sue lawyer attorney liability

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a news release – number 22-183 – warning consumers about the dangers present in the King Song electric unicycles. More specifically, there is a risk of battery fires, which can pose a burn risk, smoke inhalation risk, and property damage risk, for example.

The CSPS is urging consumers with King Son electric unicycles with model number KS-16S to immediately stop using them and dispose of them at either a recycling facility or at a household hazardous waste collection point.

According to the CSPS, there has been at least one fire caused by the electric unicycle that resulted in smoke inhalation injuries (to at least two consumers) and property damage. The CSPS tested the product and later determined that the battery pack is defective, potentially overheating and presenting a significant fire risk.

The defective e-cycles are manufactured by King Song; they are imported by EWheels LLC. They have “King Song” printed on the pedals. They were available in a number of colors including white, matte black, black, silver, have a black tire, and have multi-colored lights that light up during use. The affected products have a serial number starting with “KS16S” and can be found printed on a label on the pedals.

The products were sold online at www.ewheels.com and at other sites for prices ranging from $1,200 to $1,350.

Possible Injuries Resulting from the Hazardous E-Cycle

This is not the first time that electric unicycles are found to be dangerous. The defective King Song KS16S-model e-cycle poses a fire risk because of its defective battery. Some of the injuries that affected consumers could suffer include the following:

    • Burn injuries, ranging in severity/degree
    • Smoke inhalation injuries
    • Lacerations

These injuries can result in devastating harm, some of which can require extensive treatment to address.

In addition, property damage is also likely.

Regardless of the specific harm that you or a loved one suffered because of the defective King Son electric unicycles, you could have grounds to file a lawsuit. It is essential that you seek legal assistance as soon as possible to learn more about the legal options available to you.
