Goalsetter Wall Mounted Basketball Goals class action lawsuit recall lawyer attorney liability
On October 27, 2022, Goalsetter issued a recall for their wall-mounted basketball goals due to a serious hazard. More specially, recall 23-027 states that the basketball goal can detach from the wall and fall onto the ground, posing in an impact risk. Unfortunately, this represents a serous risk of injury or even death. The recall affects approximately 18,000 units of the product.

The recall includes the 48-inch, 54-inch, 60-inch, and 72-inch wall-mounted goal systems of the Goalsetter Adjustable Series, the Fixed Wall Mount Series, and the GS Baseline Series.

The recalled basketball goals were sold at SCHEELS stores nationwide as well as other basketball equipment stores. They were also available online via the following sites: amazon.com, dickssportinggoods.com, Walmart.com, target.com, and competitiveedgeproducts.com. They goals were available for purchase from November 1999 until June 2022.

Over the years, there have been a few incident reports. One incident was a fatal incident – in June 2018, a teenage boy was killed when the recalled product fell on him. Some of the other reported incidents included reports of facial injuries and even a fractured leg.

Goalsetter is urging all consumers affected by the recall to immediately stop using the product and contact them for either a free removal of the product and a refund or a free inspection and an installation of a safety bracket. Although these options might seem like the best thing to do, it is important that affected consumers – that is, consumers who suffered harm as a direct result of the defective product – do not follow those recommendations. Instead, affected parties should seek legal assistance as soon as possible.

If you or a loved one were injured because of the defective product, it is essential that you do not follow any of the recommendations made by the company. Instead, you should seek legal assistance immediately. Here at our law firm, our experts are ready to evaluate your situation, explore your legal options, and guide you every step of the way.
