On April 14, 2022, MTD Products issued a recall for the Craftsman 30” Mini and Troy-Bilt TB30 riding lawn mowers. According to the recall – number 22-119 – the riding lawn mowers can fail to come to a full stop and actually continue to move at a low speed (about 1 mph) when the clutch or brake pedal is fully depressed. This poses a risk of a low speed crash.
According to the recall, about 6,200 units of the riding lawn mowers are affected. The riding lawn mowers are red and black and have either Craftsman or Troy-Bilt printed on the front column.

The affected Craftsman riding lawn mowers include the following:

The recalled riding lawn mowers were manufactured in the U.S. by MTD Products. They were sold from July 2021 through January 2022 for approximately $1,600 at Lowe’s, The Home Depot, and other hardware stores nationwide; they were also available online at www.lowes.com and www.homedepot.com.
According to the recall, no incidents or injuries have been reported so far. They are urging consumers to stop using the lawn mowers affected by the recall them and contact either Craftsman or Troy-Bilt for a free inspection and a free repair.
