One person was killed in a two-car crash between a Toyota Prius and a SoCal Edison utility truck pulling a wooden electrical pole in Riverside County on Friday, April 3, 2026. The crash occurred at around 8pm on Menifee Road, just north of McLaughlin Road in Menifee, according to the Menifee Police Department. Reportedly, the 54-year-old driver in the Prius suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Preliminary findings indicate the Southern California Edison utility truck was making a left turn from the driveway of the Edison substation located on Menifee Road while the Toyota Prius was traveling northbound on Menifee Road. A collision then occurred between the Toyota Prius and the utility truck, and the Toyota Prius subsequently struck the wooden electrical pole being pulled by the truck.”
There is no suspicion of the drivers being under the influence of drugs/alcohol at the time of the crash.
